Will Smith’s comeback complete as ‘Bad Boys 4’ smashes the box office
Will Smith‘s star power has breathed new life into the summer box office … as his latest ‘Bad Boys’ movie got a revamp in its opening weekend and made it a box office hit once again.
According to The Hollywood Reporter“Bad Boys: Ride or Die” is expected to gross $56 million domestically when all is said and done – up from its previous estimate of $53 million.
BTW… international box office totals have eclipsed $48.6 million – surpassing the worldwide total of $100 million.
As we told you… box office numbers have been dismal in recent weeks, with films like ‘Mad Max: Furiosa’ and ‘The Fall Guy’ underperforming in May and early June.
Perhaps more importantly, the numbers seem to suggest that people have left the world behind viral Oscars blow of 2022 …which makes Will numero uno at the box office for the first time since the blow.
We already knew fans were ready to embrace Will…remember, Friday WS surprised a theater full of fans in Baldwin Hills – an LA neighborhood – by watching the screening with them and then revealing his presence.
The box office numbers only reinforce the love… showing that people didn’t cancel Will because of his colossally bad choice.
BTW… Will completely diverts his team’s focus on the film – he thanks his company for making a great film, and specifically mentions the tough times they’ve endured.
“Bad Boys: Ride or Die” took the top spot at the box office… and Will’s spot on the A-list seems secure, too.
