Ice-T’s daughter hijacks Law and Order: SVU set

Ice T’s 8-year-old daughter Chanel follows in her father’s footsteps on set Law and order: SVU.

The rapper, 66, and his wife, CocoAustin, shared adorable images from Chanel’s visit to the set of the long-running crime drama via Instagram on Friday, August 2.

Chanel felt completely at home in the montage as she sat behind the camera, in a director’s chair and at the desk of main character Olivia Benson, played by Mariska Hargitay.

“Oh no @babychanelnicole is taking over @nbclawandorder!!” Austin, 45, joked in a caption to the post. “Beware of directors, cameramen and even Olivia Benson’s spot! Don’t sleep on this girl! She does it all!”

As she narrated the video, Austin warned Ice-T (real name, Tracey Lauren Morrow) to stay alert if he wanted to keep his performance.

In some of the footage, an agency nameplate can be seen with the words “Capt. Olivia Benson” is replaced by a handwritten version, which reads: “Capt. CHANNEL.”

Commenting on the post, Hargitay, 60, started with a hilarious response. She wrote: “Thank God someone is holding down the fort!!!”

The 25th season is currently airing, Law and order: SVU premiered in 1999 as the first spin-off in the Law & authority franchise. Ice-T joined the show in season 2.

Off the small screen, Ice-T married Austin in 2002 and welcomed Chanel in 2015.

Speak with We weekly in June 2024, Ice-T joked about being a protective father to his daughter.

“I showed her all the little plans I made in our backyard for her friends that make her cry,” he shared Us. “She says, ‘No, no. No, Dad, you can’t do that.’ I said, “What about the girl who likes the same guy as you?” [Chanel said], ‘Oh, she can have it.’ That’s my daughter.”

The actor is also the father of an adult daughter, LaTesha marrow48, and an adult son, Tracy Marrow32, from previous relationships and has spoken publicly about how different it is raising a child later in life.

“I think the difference with Chanel and my other kids is that I’m very aware of this baby,” Ice-T explained in a May 2023 episode of the podcast, “That Moment With Daymond John.”

“I had mine [first] daughter when I was in high school. I was ripping and running, so it was presence over presence,” he said on the podcast. ‘I was not there. My son… happened right when I became Ice-T. You know, I’d never been famous before, this was something very new, so I’m distracted by that [at the time]. Chanel, I feel comfortable. I’m in a cruising pattern.”
