Joe Biden Gives Voters a Chilling Trump Reality Check on the Election

President Joe Biden, in his first interview since suspending his re-election campaign last month, expressed fears about what former president and current Republican nominee Donald Trump might do if he loses the 2024 election to Democratic rival Kamala Harris.

CBS News’ Robert Costa asked Biden if he was confident there would be a peaceful transition of power in January 2025.

“If Trump loses, I have no confidence at all,” Biden responded.

‘He means what he says. We don’t take him seriously. He means it, all that stuff about, ‘If we lose, there’s going to be a bloodbath, it’s going to have to be a stolen election,'” Biden continued, referring to Trump’s ‘carnage’ warning, which Democrats have taken as a threat interpreted. of violence, but Trump has downplayed that it was only about the economy.

“Look at what they’re trying to do now in the local election districts where people are counting votes,” Biden added. “Or putting people in states that they’re going to count the votes, right?”

Trump lost the 2020 election to Biden, but continues to make the false claim that he won.

That message has played a key role in rehabilitating Trump among Republicans who initially condemned him in the aftermath of the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection, the violent culmination of Trump’s efforts to overturn the outcome and prevent Biden from taking the White House enter.

CBS News shared a preview of Costa’s interview with Biden on social media on Thursday. “CBS News Sunday Morning” will air the full interview on Sunday.
