Karine Jean-Pierre's response to Trump's latest Biden conspiracy says it all

Donald Trump’s latest conspiracy theory has caught the attention of the White House.

The former president shared on his Truth Social platform on Tuesday a cartoonishly baseless prediction that President Joe Biden could crash the upcoming Democratic National Convention — and win back the party’s support for a presidential candidate from Vice President Kamala Harris.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked about Trump’s tirade during Wednesday’s briefing.

“The former president has suggested that the current president may still want to be the Democratic presidential candidate, put that on social media.” said Gray TV White House Correspondent Jon Decker. “Did the president –?”

Jean-Pierre’s involuntary reaction said it all, as she audibly chuckled at the idea.

“I see your reaction, so I wanted to ask you this: Does the president in any way regret his decision to drop out of the race?” Decker continued.

“The president is proud of his decision. He is proud of his decision,” Jean-Pierre replied.

Biden left after a series of public missteps cast doubt on his ability to defeat Trump at the ballot box for a second time. Not only did he perform disastrously during his presidential debate with Trump in June, but he also made a number of verbal blunders at key events in the weeks that followed.

Despite Biden voluntarily dropping out of the race, Trump is strangely unconvinced.

In his impressively baseless rantTrump claimed that Biden “feels like he has made a historically tragic mistake” by dropping out — and suggested that the chances of him “destroying” the convention later this month “to take back the nomination” are a real concern.

But Biden has not wavered.

“The first major decision a party candidate makes is the choice of vice president,” he said Tuesday. “And Kamala Harris made a great decision in choosing Governor Tim Walz as her running mate. … The Harris-Walz ticket will be a powerful voice for working people.”
