Commander who replaced Tim Walz blasts him over 'stolen courage' scandal

The former battalion commander of Tim WalzThe National Guard unit is the latest to attack the vice presidential candidate for “stolen courage” – claiming that it is an “insult” to him to claim a title he has not earned.

RadarOnline.com can reveal that John Kolb — who became lieutenant colonel of Walz’s National Guard unit a few months after the 60-year-old Walz retired in May 2005 — joined the attacks after the Minnesota governor was assassinated. accused of embellishing his military record for political gain.

In a new Facebook post, Kolb said that not only did Walz “retire early” and “broke his employment contract,” but that Walz also failed to “complete the Sergeants Major Academy” and “failed to complete any assignment as a sergeant major successfully completed”.

Kolb wrote: “I have no regrets about Tim Walz retiring early from the Minnesota Army National Guard, not completing the Sergeants Major Academy, breaking his service contract, or successfully completing any assignment as a sergeant major.

“Unconsciously he avoided better leadership. Thomas Behrends was the right leader at the right time. He sacrificed himself to answer the call, leaving his family, business and farming partner brother to train, lead and care for soldiers. He earned the privilege of being called Command Sergeant Major.

“Like a great leader, he ran toward the guns and not away.”

Lieutenant Colonel Kolb added: “For all intents and purposes and officially, [Walz] was an able firing battery chief/artillery sergeant and first sergeant. I can’t say the same for his service who sat, fully clothed, in the CSM chair.

“He did not achieve the rank or successfully complete any assignment as E9. It is an insult to the NCO corps that he continues to strive for the title.

“I can sit in the cockpit of an airplane, but that doesn’t make me a pilot. When the demands of service and leadership at the highest levels became real, he similarly chose a different path.”

Behrends told Fox News last week: “He has used the rank he never achieved to advance his political career.

“I mean, he still says he’s a retired sergeant major to this day, and he’s not. He uses the rank of others to give the impression that he is a better person than he is.”

Lt. Col. Kolb’s Facebook post has since gone viral, drawing several Republican critics – including Donald Trump Jr. – have used it to further attack Walz.

Don Jr., 46, wrote of X: “Holy s—, Tim Walz’s battalion commander is absolutely destroying him for his stolen courage. How long will the left-wing media continue to ignore all this?”

J.D. Vancefrom whom Donald Trump78, picked as his vice presidential running mate, also attacked Walz last month over allegations of “stolen courage.”
