American woman tries to run over boyfriend on way to couple's therapy session: report

Veronica Roleen Gast is charged with second-degree assault and vehicular assault.

A Minnesota woman was arrested after allegedly trying to crush her boyfriend under her car during an intense fight. According to police reports, Veronica Roleen Gast, 30, and her boyfriend were driving to a relationship therapy session when the argument quickly spiraled out of control. The boyfriend, whose name has not been released, told authorities he chose to end the relationship and asked Gast to drive him home.

Guest reportedly became irate and parked the car on the road, forcing her friend to get out. As he walked away from the vehicle, Gast allegedly drove the car toward him and almost hit him. Witnesses to the incident described it as a harrowing experience.

The boyfriend rolled over the hood and hit the windshield, shattering it. He suffered a laceration to his right elbow.

Guest was taken into custody and charged with second-degree assault and vehicular assault. She is accused of ‘bodily harm, gross negligence and domestic violence’. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

“The defendant admitted that she had hit the victim with her car while driving away. The defendant said she slowed down and stopped to call police,” according to a police report obtained by Crime online said.

“The defendant stated that she was in shock when she hit the victim, so she did not stop immediately but let off the gas,” the report continued.

Guest told officers that the crack in the windshield was not caused by his body, but by him hitting it. It is unclear whether Gast was injured.
