How Wrexham vs. Reading to watch: live stream, channel, start time, odds, prediction, choice

The English Football League is on CBS Sports and you can now watch Wrexham’s journey for further promotion. Currently in League One, after successive promotions from the National League to the third division, the Red Dragons are quite a story in the making. Backed by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Wrexham have been given a cash injection to attract top players for the push-up to higher leagues.

By reaching League One, Wrexham now find themselves in a trickier part of the ladder, where buying the best players may not be enough to secure promotion to the Championship, but even a mid-table finish would be a success in their first season in the third division. The aim is for them to reach the Premier League and at the moment the Red Dragons are on the right track, but there are many steps between League One and the top flight.

Wrexham are one of four Welsh clubs in the EFL alongside Newport County in League Two, while Cardiff City and Swansea both play in the Championship. Wrexham play their home games at the Racecourse ground which has been around since 1807 and play their matches at the oldest venue in the world which has been their home since 1864.

Their journey has been documented in the TV series ‘Welcome to Wrexham’, which has helped many around the world learn the story of the Red Dragons, but their success on the pitch has also given them a boost. Initially purchased by Reynolds and McElhenney for $2.5 million, this team continues to grow by the day.

This weekend sees the start of the Championship and the rest of the English Football League action, as the journey to the richest game in sport begins, and you can follow the action on Biggest+, CBS Sports Golazo Network And CBS Sports Network all season long.

Can the Red Dragons continue their undefeated start?

So far, Wrexham’s time in League One couldn’t have started much better with a win and a draw in two games played. It is particularly impressive to maintain Bolton Wanderers’ level of performance after being in the play-offs last season. Despite Paul Mullin being sidelined with an injury, scoring has not been a problem for the Red Dragons, but they will have to get past a Reading side who are also unbeaten in the early stages of the season.

Last season Reading struggled to finish as low as 17th in League One, so this should be an easier challenge for Wrexham when they return home. However, no match can be taken for granted as a dropped point can be the difference between making the play-offs and finishing mid-table.

Prediction

Wrexham will continue their good form in a new division as teams are made aware of their attacking strength. As the defense improves, the Red Dragons could become serious promotion candidates again. Choose: Wrexham 3, Reading 1
