How to use Circle to search your phone
If you’re out and about and see something you don’t recognize, Google Lens can search for you and tell you what it is. But when is what you want to look up on your screen? That’s where Circle to Search comes into the picture.
It’s a new AI-powered feature on some of the latest Android phones that tells you what you can see on your screen. It’s as simple as it sounds: all you have to do is circle around it. But how does it work and on which devices is it available? Here’s everything you need to know.
What is Circle to Search?
Imagine scrolling through Instagram and seeing something that piques your interest: an orange lamp perhaps? Instead of typing a lengthy description into Google, you can simply use your finger to circle the object on your screen. You get instant search results without having to describe what you’re looking at.
Circle to Search isn’t just for shopping addicts looking for their next purchase; it is a universal tool. Whether you’re trying to identify a mysterious plant, decipher a baffling word, or simply get the latest information on everything you see, this feature has the solution for you. It’s like Google Lens, but for what’s on your screen.

- Do you want to search for something? Circle it, scribble on it, or just tap it. The system must be smart enough to understand what you are looking for
- Once you have made your choice, you can refine it. Drag the handles around your selection to resize or adjust your search area
