John Leguizamo is a bit bad about the dead – labeling the deceased Patrick Swayze just as insecure while shooting a movie in the ’90s… with a few other descriptions to boot.
The actor was talking Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM radio show this week – and they started talking about JL’s 1995 comedy ‘To Wong Foo’… in which Pat, John and Wesley Snipes portrayed drag queens and shared the spotlight together in front of the camera.
Andy tells John he’s heard nothing but great things about Patrick, but when John hesitates to confirm that… they get into a bit of gossip, with John describing them butting heads on set.
Listen for yourself… long story short: JL claims Patrick was “insecure” and “neurotic” during filming – and apparently a lot of it had to do with the improvisation John and Wesley had with their characters were doing, often going off script and making up lines.
John says that made Patrick annoyed and would ask them to stick to the script – something John says he wasn’t willing to do… because he wanted to bring some flair and flash to his character, which he felt was missing from the OG design.
He also claims that Patrick simply couldn’t keep up… and it seems to have caused problems.
That said, John says “rest in peace” a few times here and says he has nothing but love for Patrick when it’s all said and done. Still… not the greatest memory.
