A better Apple TV remote is here (and cheap)

Yelling at your TV remote is not normal. But you know what? We’ll give you a pass if it’s a Siri Remote. These things make someone want to scream—and throw across the room—every curse word in the dictionary because you said, “Pause this,” not, “Turn on the Spanish subtitles.”

Unless you want to make a Siri Remote-shaped hole in your wall, you should check this out Remote alternative to Apple TV by Function101. It works and looks like one normal remotely. No talking, no swiping, no nonsense. And it retails for $29.95.

Compatibility… universal??

The function101 remote works with all Apple TVs because it couples via infrared technology. This means that you can also do without the regular remote control for your TV or soundbar, because it can control the power and volume: it’s two in one.

It can also be compatible with other streaming boxes, and can double as Roku remote control if you’re not a fan of that design either. Once paired it has a range of up to 12 meters, but it must be in a direct line of sight to your streaming box.

Finally an Apple TV remote that won’t drive you crazy

We won’t say the Function101 is better than the Siri Remote, but it has twice as many buttons. Just tap Menu or long-press the up arrow to get to the AppleTV Control Center without having to think of confusing touch control gestures or summon Siri.

It’s also a lot harder to lose because it’s more inconvenient. Normally that sounds like a bad thing, but how many times has your Siri Remote slipped between the cushions of your couch because it’s so thin and slippery? Yes… with this remote control you won’t miss those days.

Okay, okay, the Function101 is one better Apple TV remote. And it’s only $29.95 for a limited time.
