Alan Partridge returns in first look of 'And Did Those Feet...'

Alan Partridge is officially back, as evidenced by a new first look from his upcoming BBC documentary “And Did Those Feet… with Alan Partridge.”

Filming has officially begun on the show, which sees comedian Steve Coogan (who was twice nominated for an Oscar for his work on the 2013 comedy-drama “Philomena”) reprising his role as the hapless interviewer.

The six-part mockumentary follows Partridge as he returns to Norfolk after a year in Saudi Arabia and struggles to reintegrate.

“One of the first – if not the first – documentary to tackle the issue of mental wellbeing, the six-part series follows the respected and much-loved broadcaster on a quest to understand what is going on, with the spirit of Britain and his own,” reads the official logline. “It’s a show that makes a statement that will send shockwaves: ‘I’m Alan Partridge, and I’m not okay.’ Partridge will write, present and produce the series. He will also direct the series.”

The first image from the production, which opened in southern England on May 13, shows him standing tall on what appears to be a farm, wearing wellies (wellies) with a serious expression on his face.

The BBC has not yet confirmed when the series will air in Britain

In a statement, Partridge said: “I am delighted to follow the Daily Mail’s exclusive coverage of the shooting and their gallery of paparazzi-style images, with my own press release more or less confirming the details they announced. All the best, Alan.”

A tactless and pompous presenter, Alan Partridge has become one of Britain’s most enduring satirical characters since debuting in 1991 as the brainchild of Coogan and ‘Veep’ creator Armando Iannucci.

“And Did Those Feet… with Alan Partridge” is produced by Coogan’s production company Baby Cow production for BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Coogan co-wrote the show with Neil and Rob Gibbons, who also direct. Joe Fraser produces. Executive producers are Coogan, Neil and Rob Gibbons, Rupert Majendie and Sarah Monteith. BBC comedy director Jon Petrie ordered the series.

Baby Cow is owned by BBC Studios, which will distribute the series worldwide.
