Alex Cooper’s $125 Million SiriusXM Deal Means the End for Howard Stern?
Howard Stern may be nearing the end of his reign as the face of SiriusXM.

Radio host and writer Clay Travis revealed, “Cooper signed a huge, monstrous deal with SixiusXM.”
The 30-year-old podcaster is teaming up with the entertainment giant after accepting a $125 million contract.
She confirmed the news on a recent Instagram afterwriting: “THANK YOU @siriusxm DADDY GET READY. WE ARE AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE AND DOING IT EVEN BIGGER IN 2025.”

Cooper burst onto the radio scene with her talk show in 2018, and has recently landed big guests like Miley Cyrus, Simone Biles, Gwyneth Paltrow And Ciara.
At $42 million a year, the Sirius XM deal will put Cooper’s revenues higher than those of any network television host. The only media personalities who earn more are Stern and Joe Rogan, according to Surpass.
Stern, who landed one of the biggest mega-money deals in radio history in 2006 and became the face of SiriusXM, reportedly earns about $80 million a year.
However, the tide seems to be turning for Stern, as the five-year contract he signed in 2020 expires next year. It’s unclear whether SiriusXM will stand down or retire him, but Cooper’s deal suggests the platform wants to shift its focus to a younger audience.
Call her daddy consistently ranks among the top three most popular podcasts on Apple, Spotify and YouTube, attracting listeners from the lucrative 18-36 demographic.
Stern, on the other hand, is starting to fade from the spotlight as his aging listenership dwindles. According to Outkick, SiriusXM stopped releasing its ratings altogether in 2020 because its audience was “less.”
A reporter for the outlet wrote, “Howard is a shell of his former self. He has become meandering, repetitive and stooge-like,” adding, “For the first time in two decades, Howard Stern is expendable.”
Under his contract, SiriusXM will retain licensing of Stern’s audio and video archive until 2027.
