Benji Gregory shared a series of heartbreaking posts on social media before he was found dead in Arizona last month at the age of 46, along with his service dog Hans.

ALF actor Benji Gregory shared a series of heartbreaking posts on social media before he was found dead next to his service dog last month at the age of 46 Hans.

Gregory — who sadly passed away on June 13 outside a Chase Bank in Peoria, Arizona — took to Instagram just weeks before his passing to share several posts about his beloved and loyal canine companion.

In one, published on April 10 and which became Gregory’s last Instagram post before his death, he wrote: “I wish my dog, Hans, would grow out of this ‘tagging’ phase already.”

In another, shared on April 5, Hans was in a dog cage during a trip to Walmart.

Gregory joked: “Innocent behind bars, suspected of shoplifting at Walmart. Do they have everything a dog could want? Maybe a fake watch, we all know dogs love watches.”

Several other Instagram posts Gregory shared before his sudden death at age 46 last month highlighted his love for his service dog best friend.

Gregory’s sister, Rebekahwas the first to issue a statement announcing the sudden death of her former child star brother TMZ on Wednesday.

She revealed that the popular one ALF The alum’s body was found in his car outside a bank in Peoria on June 13, and the former child star and his pup may have died of heatstroke.

Rebecca also said her brother had lived with bipolar disorder and depression in the years before his death.

Gregory’s death was later confirmed by the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s office, but the official cause of death remains unknown.

Camille Jazzy JenkinsGregory’s cousin, went to Facebook after Gregory’s death, it was announced on Wednesday to pay tribute to the late actor.

Jenkins, who listed “heat exhaustion” as Gregory’s possible cause of death, wrote: “In utter sadness and shock, our family has lost one of the most beloved and wonderful men in our small circle.”

She continued: “It has taken some time to process and process our loss. We’re not doing well… but take comfort in knowing he’s with his grandmothers. Please keep his sister, brother and parents in your prayers.”

Gregory was born Benjamin Gregory Hertzberg on May 26, 1978 in Los Angeles.

In addition to starring as Brian Tanner in the hit NBC sitcom ALF For four seasons from 1986 to 1990, Gregory also appeared on several popular ’80s programs, including The A-team, Punky BrewsterAnd Amazing stories.

Gregory discussed his four-year period Alf just two years before his death.

He said during a YouTube interview in 2022: “Actually, I don’t really remember a moment or anything like that where I became aware of ALF be a big hit. I remember when they hit the Nielsen ratings the day after they came out, so we were always competing with a show called Major Dad.”

Gregory added at the time: “We won that slot most often.”
