Assassin’s Creed Shadows release date has been leaked: November 15

Earlier this morning, Ubisoft confirmed the official title for Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, now known as Assassin’s Creed Shadows, revealing that it would be getting a cinematic trailer debut on May 15, and now it appears a release date has been leaked.

Ubisoft’s official tweet announcing the reveal of the upcoming trailer only mentions when the trailer should go live. What isn’t mentioned is the game’s release date. However, we speculated that the date would be revealed during the trailer. It appears that Ubisoft inadvertently gave away the launch date on YouTube.

The release date is listed on Ubisoft’s official YouTube channel in Italy. If you head over to the official YouTube channel, you’ll see a cinematic premiere video for Assassin’s Creed Shadows on the publisher’s home tab. It’s this video that seems to have inadvertently revealed the details. A user on X saw the date and quickly took a screenshot. However, you cannot see this information on the American site. So two things are possible. Ubisoft caught wind of the accidental leak and removed the date mention, otherwise it would never have been visible on the US version of the site. Either way, the information is now available.

The user who noticed the date is @Andrealex2001who posted about it in the same Wario64 comment thread mentioned in our initial report on the trailer.

The release date of Assassin’s Creed Shadows is likely November 15, 2024

Ubisoft certainly wanted to keep this hidden. Possibly until the trailer was revealed on Wednesday. But now that it’s available, don’t be surprised if there’s an official statement on the date ahead of the cinematic trailer debut. According to @Andreaalex2001, the game will be released on November 15 this year. That’s technically within the timeframe set by Ubisoft’s CEO, who stated during an earnings report earlier this year that it would be released before March 2025.

However, given the wording, it was probably suspected that it would come later than what it currently appears to be. In the screenshot below, you can see just below the video title that it says “available from November 15, 2024.” This translates to “available from November 15, 2024.” Information about the availability of the gaming platform was also revealed in the earlier report. The game is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and is also available on Ubisoft+.

Ubisoft can always change the date

While it looks like the game will release on November 15, 2024, there is always room for Ubisoft to change the date. It also cannot be ruled out that this date was a mistake, although that seems unlikely. It seems more logical that the date is real and stated accidentally. Either way, it looks like Ubisoft fans will be eating well in the second half of the year. With Star Wars Outlaws releasing in August, there’s plenty of time to get that done before Assassin’s Creed Shadows becomes available.
