Bebe Rexha says she was the victim of a ‘hate crime’ for speaking Albanian
Bebe Rexha says she was discriminated against at a German airport. She told fans she wasn’t allowed through security, which she calls a “hate crime.”
The singer-songwriter shared videos of her sobbing at Munich International Airport in Germany … and claimed between shaky breaths that the supervisor on her Lufthansa flight threatened her and banned her from her flight.
BR says she spoke Albanian to one of the airport guards because she thought he was speaking Albanian to her. An action that, according to her, led to a tense confrontation with airport staff.
Rexha says she is certain she has experienced a hate crime because she is Albanian… adding that the alleged discrimination did not stop there.
Bebe claims the security staff “mentally abused” her and brandished their power – without anyone stepping in to say anything. She says she tried to find out his name to report him, but he wouldn’t give it to her.
BTW… Bebe learned Albanian at a young age because her father was born in North Macedonia – a country where people speak both Macedonian and Albanian – and her mother also has Albanian roots.
A Lufthansa representative tells TMZ that they are in direct contact with Bebe to hear the full story. They add that the airline connects people around the world… and diversity and equal opportunity are core values for their company.
We have been told that Lufthansa will not tolerate any form of discriminatory behavior and will investigate it thoroughly.
