What to do Ben Platt And Travis Kelce have in common? A love for Uncrustables, for example.

“I always have Uncrustables in my dressing room because: (a) peanut butter is high in protein, and (b) it’s a very comforting snack and makes all these unfamiliar places on the road feel very homely,” Platt, 30, exclusively reveals in his Backstage Pass feature in the last issue of We weeklyon newsstands now.

As for Kelce, 34, the NFL star shared his love for Smucker’s pre-packaged PB&Js on an episode of his and his brother’s Jason Kelce‘s podcast, “New Heights.”

“I probably eat more Uncrustables than anything in the world,” Kelce said.

In addition to the nostalgic snack, Platt shared all his tour must-haves and craziest backstage stories with Us as he packed his Honeyspirit tour, which took him across the country this summer, singing his album of the same name.

The star-studded tour featured guest appearances from major artists, from Sam Smith And Jennifer Hudson to Platt Pitch Perfect on-screen co-star and roommate, Skylar Astin.

“Thank you for letting me sing, perform and play my own music, it brings me the ultimate joy,” Platt wrote via Instagram on Sunday, July 28, the day after his last show.

What is your pre-show ritual?

“I do a FaceTime warm-up with my singing teacher, Lisa Kaplanwhich is part stretch and part vocal warm-up,” Platt shared Us. “Then I steam a bit, put on some nice oil so my nails look shiny on stage, drink lots of water and keep going!”

What was your craziest concert or tour experience?

“I played at Madison Square Garden in the past, which was great, and the Hollywood Bowl, where I had my first job, so that was a full circle moment to headline there,” Platt said. “But on this tour, playing the Ryman – the mother church of country music, and especially being in Nashville, where I wrote my album – brought it back home, where the music was born. Getting to perform at the Ryman for two nights was just amazing.”

Plat continued: “[It was] a vote of confidence for the music I was trying to make, and it’s a tribute to music I really respect and songwriters I respect. There are a lot of good minds there!”

What is your favorite song to play live? Which new song from your new album would you like to play live?

“I think my favorite song to play live from this album is probably ‘All American Queen,’ just because it’s so upbeat and festive,” Platt said. Us. “I think queer people deserve the opportunity to just celebrate their specialness.”

The singer added singing Joni Mitchell‘s song ‘River’ – which he sang as Payton Hobart on Netflix The politician in 2019 — was another special moment for him.

“I get to sing Joni Mitchell on this tour, which I really enjoy doing,” he said. “[‘River’] is another favorite to sing because it’s a very quiet pin-drop moment.
