Cardi B reaches deal with female security guard who is suing her for alleged assault to delay trial

The parties have indicated that they wish to attend another mediation session. Ellis’ attorney said, “The parties have discussed a settlement, but need a highly skilled mediator to help the parties bridge the gap.”

Ellis explained: “There have been some significant changes to this case, including new counsel, which should allow for more flexibility during mediation. The parties are currently more motivated to settle this case.”

As we previously reported, Ellis claimed in her lawsuit that she was assaulted by Cardi while working as a security guard at a medical office building in Los Angeles.

Ellis said the incident occurred on February 24, 2018.

She said she approached Cardi, which led to the rapper allegedly punching her in the head, face and body.

The guard sought unspecified damages for her alleged injuries and emotional distress.

She added: “[Cardi’s] intention was to inflict injury [Ellis] so she could no longer go to work. [Cardi] even used her celebrity status to gain [Ellis] fired from her position as a security guard. [Cardi] by threats, coercion, intimidation, physical violence, including assault and battery [Ellis] to return to work as a security guard, something she was legally entitled to.”
