Castrol distributor is hosting the 2024 Reignite event

North Trend Marketing Corp. (NTM), the master distributor of Castrol in the Philippines, held its Reignite Event 2024 on July 6, 2024 at the Manila Hotel.

The event was attended by Castrol managers, NTM managers, partners, stakeholders and Castrol Key Opinion Leaders. The event aims to reintroduce Castrol’s new branding, from the packaging to its future plans.

The program kicked off with the opening speech of Chief Operating Officer Ronald Ang. His opening speech focused on the importance of monitoring change, and discussed certain external factors that could influence business growth. He also discussed the reason for the need to change and be prepared for all circumstances. He also emphasized that Castrol will always look for long-term solutions and always make progress, not only in terms of product innovation, but also improve engagement with partners with what Castrol has to offer.

The program proper started with the launch of Castrol Reignite. This was carried out by Castrol Asia Pacific’s Growth Unit Manager, Marlina Kamaruddin. She began by describing Castrol’s milestones over the past 125 years and what Castrol has changed the lives of our community. She also discussed key facts about Castrol, such as the brand’s involvement in the aerospace industry. She is also proud that Castrol now serves more than 150 countries around the world. Another thing Marlina was proud of is that Castrol reaches 200,000,000 customers around the world.

The next presenter was Mike Zhi Qiang Zhang, Vice President of Castrol Asia Pacific. His presentation focused on the long-term strategic success they see as an opportunity for the Castrol product lines. He emphasized that motor oil will still be one of the most important factors for a vehicle in 2040, with the maritime market services increasing at a forecast of 2% per year. He also discussed that Castrol is now stepping up its efforts for the industry with an expected growth of 3% per year by 2030. Finally, he ensured that Castrol is combining new technologies by deploying renewable energy.

The program moved to PH Market Liason for Castrol Allan Cinco. He defined some changes with Castrol. Firstly, there is fresh and modern Castrol branding, which reflects the changing needs of Castrol customers; a slight change in tone, but no stranger to the challenges of land, sea, air and space. Allan ended his presentation with a statement of Onward to a Stronger Partnership. Castrol will help its commercial customers with their sustainability goals across energy, waste and water, accelerating progress with Castrol.

The final presenter for the 2024 Reignite event was Castrol-NTM Sales Director Grace Lao-Torrejas. Her discussion focused on Gen Z’s fit into the marketplace, as they make up 27% of the workforce. Also, Ms. Lao-Torrejas focused the discussion on the use of social media by Generation Z, with the Philippines ranking first with the highest social media usage rate of 60%. As a prospective customer, they are very opinionated and are likely to have a ‘cancel culture’ if brand issues are not properly addressed. Ms. Lao-Torrejas also shared that despite their objections, Asia’s Generation Z is forgiving and may support the brand again as long as the brand’s promise is kept. The presentation ended with Castrol being equipped for these changes in the market and ready to move forward.
