Joining him will be his son Freddy, who is looking forward to bonding as a family on this adventure: “Dad has a busy life, he works a lot and there aren’t many moments where the two of us have done things together. us. But when we do that, I’m really lucky, whether it’s going to the cinema, going to the driving range, it’s all good.
Meanwhile, Jeff is trying to make the most of his travels: “I can handle it rough and we hope to do a little bit of that on this adventure – but I can also appreciate some of the luxuries, some of the places we visit. where I have been and experienced has also been a privilege.”
Broadcaster Kelly Brook and her husband, Jeremy
Broadcaster, model and actress Kelly Brook is best known for Survival Island, Fishtales, Celebrity Juice and Britain’s Got Talent. Her husband Jeremy Parisi, whom she married in 2022, will join her on the show.
For Kelly, this series is a dream come true: “I think Jeremy and I were looking for a new adventure to go on together and we love to travel. And this just seemed like the dream of going to the airport and not knowing where you’re going.
Meanwhile, Jeremy may find the social side a bit more challenging: “This will be for Kelly because I’m shyer. I think I will talk to strangers because I have no choice and because it is a race and I want to win. But Kelly will be better than me… She’s more charming, so she’ll speak in a better way.”
Actor Kola Bokinni and his cousin Mary Ellen
Kola Bokinni rose to fame thanks to the Apple TV+ hit Ted Lasso. He also appeared in Black Mirror and Top Boy.
He brings with him his cousin Mary Ellen, who had the honor of being chosen. “Kola called me and said, ‘Hey, Mary, do you want to be part of the show with me?’ I thought, “Oh my God, have you been thinking about me?” I just want to create memories with my cousin, I guess, and have the adventure of a lifetime.”
Mary Ellen is excited to move on to the next location, but Kola keeps his eyes on the prize. “She’ll get lost in everything. She will feel like this is her life now. And it’s like no, we need to move on to another area. Trust me, buddy, you’ll see. Like two days later.”
Radio 2 presenter Scott Mills and his fiancée Sam
Radio DJ Scott Mills was a regular on Radio 1 with Chris Stark for many years, and now presents his own show on Radio 2. He takes on Race Across the World with his husband (then fiancée), Sam.
For Scott, this adventure will be the ultimate challenge before the couple ties the knot: “…if we can get through this, we can actually get through anything. I have no doubt that we will, but that’s part of the reason why I wanted to do it. I actually just want to throw away my phone. I couldn’t do this again.”
The couple are used to standard beach holidays and Sam says they are looking forward to something different. “I’m not worried about the possibility of sleeping on a train or on a bus. I feel like this is the backpacking experience, I probably got that 12 years too late, but at least I got it.”
