Four of the Championship’s top teams remain in the hunt for a Premier League spot next season, with the promotion play-offs resuming this week after two scoreless first legs.
Norwich City will host Leeds United on Thursday as both eye a return to England’s top flight, while Southampton will host West Bromwich Albion a day later with the same goal in mind. The winners of the semi-finals will meet on May 26 for the play-off final at London’s Wembley Stadium, where the winner will join Leicester City and Ipswich Town as promoted teams in the Premier League next season.

Storylines
Norwich vs Leeds: The first leg at Carrow Road was fairly timid, with neither side managing more than two shots on target or seven shots in total. They will need to be arguably more attacking on Thursday, which should be good news for Leeds at home with the score tied at 0-0. Striker Crysencio Summerville is among the league’s top scorers this season with 19 goals, while Georginio Rutter finished second in the Championship for assists with 15. Not very far behind for Norwich, however, are American Josh Sargent after a 16-goal season and Gabriel Sara. , who has twelve assists this season.
Southampton vs West Brom: Another match between teams with Premier League experience. Things were slightly livelier at The Hawthorns, but neither side managed more than three shots on target in a 0-0 draw. It could also be in the hosts’ favor on Friday given the form of Adam Armstrong this season, who has scored 21 goals and 13 assists so far. West Brom will have to rely on Brandon Thomas-Asante after he has scored 11 goals this season, while Grady Diangana has provided seven goals and eight assists in the 2023/2024 campaign.
