Cheese recalled in Canada due to concerns about Staphylococcus aureus

Les Fromages Latino Inc. recalls several brands of cheese due to contamination with Staphylococcus aureus

According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), the recalled products were distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec, Canada.

About Staphylococcus aureus
Staphylococcus aureus is a bacteria that commonly causes rapid symptoms of food poisoning, including nausea, vomiting, gagging, abdominal cramps and exhaustion. In more severe cases, headache, muscle cramps and transient changes in blood pressure and pulse may occur. Recovery usually takes two days and everyone is susceptible. Although rare, some people have died from such infections, especially the elderly, infants and those who were severely debilitated.
