The Colorado house where Chris Watts killed his wife has hit the market again, and it’s quite expensive compared to other homes in the area… TMZ has learned.
The 5-bedroom home in Frederick, Colorado – which was heavily featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary ‘American Murder: The Family Next Door’ – is now for sale… after filing for bankruptcy following the horrific events of 2018.
As we all know… Chris confessed to killing his wife. Shanannand their 2 little girls Bella And Celeste — and he is now serving five life sentences behind bars.
In the aftermath of the murders, the house was taken over by the bank and eventually bought by a buyer in ’22 for $600,000. Now that owner just listed it for a whopping $775,000.
The house itself is very nice, but we looked at what other houses in the immediate area are going for – and this stands out as one of the more expensive purchases in the area. Again…it’s a sweet crib, but the price is a bit high considering what happened there.
The listing doesn’t mention the murders – that’s not required in the state of FWIW – but does feature a new roof and exterior paint for the property, as well as a covered porch. Plus, the house is just over 10 years old… and is close to parks, restaurants and good schools.
This wouldn’t be the first time a murder house has been put up for sale despite its gruesome past…just take a look at the JonBenet Ramsey home or the The Menendez brothers’ mansion.
Anyway, if anyone’s interested… they’re going to have to pay a pretty penny for the property. The question of course is… is it worth it? Time will tell.
