Corbin Blue still has his jump rope skills all these years later.

“Double Dutch between performances outside our theater! Mine [Off-Broadway’s Little Shop of Horrors] family knows how to bring the community together!” Bleu, 35, captioned an Instagram video on Sunday, May 27. “I can’t believe it’s been almost 20 years since I did this.”

In the clip, the star is seen skipping rope on a New York City street during his 2007 song “Push It to the Limit” from the Disney Channel Original Movie. Get in! plays in the background. Bleu played wide Keke Palmer in the DCOM, which premiered in January 2007. (Bleu is currently starring as Seymour Krelborn in an off-Broadway production of Small horror shopS.)

The film followed the story of Izzy Daniels (Bleu), a teenage boxing prodigy who is part of a Double Dutch team coached by old friend Mary (Palmer). Throughout the film, Izzy must decide whether he wants to become a Golden Gloves winner like his father or help his new friends win a regional Double Dutch Championship.

The director of the film, Paul Hoentold Insider in January 2022 that both Bleu and Palmer, 30, did their own stunts on the film set.

“What’s great about that group of actors is that they could do all that jumping rope,” Hoen recalls. “It’s incredibly difficult, and all the tricks, they were totally into it and learning how to do them.”

While Get in! was a standalone DCOM, director Hoen revealed that a lot of footage was left on the editing room floor.

“It took a long time before we could abolish it a bit,” he said Insider, which explained that the original 120 minutes of footage had to be cut for TV. ‘I don’t know if we’ve withdrawn [full] scenes, but a lot of the Double Dutch was just so thick, and it was just trying to find the rhythm of how we could shorten everything, especially in those competitions.
