Curtis LeGeyt renews contract as president and CEO of NAB

The National Association of Broadcasters and Curtis LeGeyt have agreed to a contract extension that will keep him as CEO of the organization until 2029, NAB board chairman Perry Sook announced Tuesday. LeGeyt has worked at NAB for more than ten years.

“NAB and its members are pleased to have Curtis LeGeyt leading our advocacy efforts in Washington and are excited about his contract extension,” Sook said. “Curtis has demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic thinking and an unwavering commitment to the future of broadcasting, keeping NAB at the forefront of innovation. We are confident in his ability to drive continued success for NAB and its members.”

During LeGeyt’s time as president and CEO, NAB has lobbied for policy changes involving technology companies, preserving access to AM radio in car stereos and halting the implementation of new radio performance fees for station owners. In addition, LeGeyt has helped NAB reduce regulatory fees for local stations and litigated before the Federal Communications Commission to revise long-standing broadcast ownership rules.

“I am deeply honored to be entrusted with the leadership of NAB,” said LeGeyt. “Representing the television and radio stations that unite our communities during this transformative time in media is a privilege. The growing importance of our stations in providing news and information that Americans can trust drives my commitment to this vital industry. I am grateful for the trust the NAB Board of Directors and our members have placed in me, and I am committed to an innovation agenda that ensures local TV and radio can thrive for the betterment of our communities well into the future. ‘
