'Daily Show' is a bad reminder of Trump's artistic desires

“The Daily Show” correspondent Desi Lydic gave Donald Trump the floor to ramble on about “whatever” he wanted Thursday as she mocked what the former president this week called an “intellectual” economic policy speech.

Lydic joked about Trump’s “focus on the issues” during the campaign speech, where he touched on President Joe Biden’s interest in ice cream.

“They’re not using a photo, they’re using an artist’s sketch,” the Republican candidate told a crowd in North Carolina on Wednesday.

He continued, “I want to use that artist. I want to find that artist. I like him a lot.”

Lydic quickly responded to the former president’s artistic wishes.

“Donald, do you really need a new artist? I feel like you have enough sketches,” Lydic responded as courtroom sketches of Trump appeared on the screen.
