Dandelooo picks worldwide rights to Dream Factory's 'PongPong Dino'

International Emmy-winning French animation producer-distributor Dandelooo has signed a deal with Korea’s Dream Factory Studio for the latter’s new CG preschool series ‘PongPong Dino’.

“PongPong Dino” is a new IP aimed at 2-4 year olds, produced by Dream Factory and directed by animator Tacken Chae. The show invites the audience into a world where playing with your food is an important part of every meal. One of the main objectives of the series is to develop an interest in a wide variety of cuisines among young viewers while dispelling misconceptions about less popular foods.

Under the agreement, Dandelooo has acquired exclusive worldwide distribution rights, excluding China, South Korea and CIS, for 52 seven-minute episodes of ‘PongPong Dino’. The show joins other animated preschool content distributed by Dandeloo, including “Ernest and Celestine – The Collection,” a derivative of the 2014 Oscar-nominated film; Annecy and Annie-winning animated special “Shooom’s Odyssey”; and 2023 Cartoon Forum highlight “What’s Up Eesha?”

Heyo Jin Moon of Dream Factory brokered the deal. In a press release, the acquisition manager explains: “Brace yourself for a delicious adventure full of laughter, learning experiences and stimulating discoveries. Get ready to enjoy every moment of this delightful journey as we embark on a feast for the imagination with this fun and creative series that kids will love.”

Mac Kim, CEO of Dream Factory, added: “’Pongpong Dino’ is a great piece that allows children to learn emotions and experiences through play. It’s an animation that parents can confidently show to children to convey a positive message that encourages autonomy: a message of ‘try everything’ rather than ‘don’t do this’. Meet Pongpong Dino, who learns by happily playing with all the senses.”

Dandelooo has had a busy start to 2024. In February, the company launched a dedicated animation division with three films already in the pipeline. Dandelooo Cinéma will focus on acquiring, developing, producing and distributing high-quality children’s and family films.
