Daniel Radcliffe points out cameo from Harry Potter series on Max

Daniel Radcliffe says it would be wise for the upcoming Harry Potter television series about Max to move away from the iconic film series, meaning the chances of him appearing in the show are quite low. Radcliffe starred in eight Harry Potter films in the title role between 2001 and 2011.

“I don’t think so,” he said told E! Online when asked about starring in the series in any capacity. “I think they want that very sensibly [have] a clean break. And I don’t know if it would work if we put something in there. I really enjoy just watching with everyone.”

Radcliffe then politely withdrew from any more “Harry Potter” television speeches. When asked if Max had already asked him if he was involved in the series, he replied: “I’m going to be a politician about this and not deal with mortgages.”

The actor has remained steadfast in maintaining his distance from the new show. He told Comic last year that whatever the Harry Potter series becomes, it should be a fresh start for the franchise.

“My understanding is that they are very much trying to start over and I’m sure whoever makes them wants to put their own stamp on it and probably not want to have to figure out how old Harry can play a part in this. somewhere,” Radcliffe said. “I’m definitely not looking for it in any way. But of course I wish them all the luck in the world and I am very happy that the torch has been passed on. But I don’t think I have to physically go through it.”

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav announced earlier this year that 2026 will see the launch of the ‘Harry Potter’ television series on Max. The show is expected to span seven seasons, adapting each book from JK Rowling’s best-selling fantasy book series.

“We haven’t been shy about our excitement around Harry Potter,” Zaslav said. “We are very pleased to be able to breathe new life into this franchise. Our conversations were great and we couldn’t be more excited about what lies ahead. We can’t wait to share ten years of new stories with fans around the world on Max.”

No castings for the series have been announced yet.
