Diablo IV turns one and celebrates with in-game freebies and events

It’s hard to believe that Diablo IV is already a year old, but it’s true and Blizzard is celebrating the game’s one-year anniversary with a number of in-game events and goodies. The celebration kicks off today with an event Blizzard is calling the March of the Goblins. Players wandering through Sanctuary may notice an increase in the number of treasure goblins they encounter. If you’re lucky enough to spot one of these little wealth-hoarding demons, don’t forget to take a break from slaying the more powerful hellspawn to beat up these goblins and grab their loot.

In fact, there is an incentive to do so. You won’t just see an increase in treasure goblins in the world of Sanctuary. These goblins also drop more loot than normal. This gives you the perfect opportunity to scoop up potentially powerful gear. And of course more gold. Because the heroes of Sanctuary don’t eat for free.

The gift can be picked up from June 6 to 20. These are all cosmetics, so there’s nothing in them that could affect the balance of power between players.

Diablo Immortal players are not left behind

If you play Diablo Immortal, but not Diablo IV, you also get some cool in-game events to take part in. Starting June 6 and ending June 20 at 3 a.m. local server time, players can battle the Avarice world boss from Diablo IV in Diablo Immortal. Defeating this boss offers the chance to reward you with untold riches and is part of a limited activity called the Trial of Plunder.

Here too, the treasure goblins will appear in large numbers. By participating in this event you can earn a special portal skin and an avatar frame, among other things. You can also complete March of the Goblins themed tasks to get even more rewards. After completing three tasks, you can earn 3 Bound Legendary Crests. Completing nine tasks will reward you with 1 Rare Gem and a Known Contract, and fifteen tasks will net you 7 Rare Crests and the Glorious Dawn Portal.
