Disgraced '7th Heaven' star Stephen Collins breaks cover after five years under the radar

Plagued by scandal 7th heaven actor Stefan Collins was photographed for the first time in five years, breaking cover in Iowa long after he disappeared from the public eye.

RadarOnline.com has learned that the former TV star was spotted behind the wheel of his car before visiting a local gas station, wearing a long sleeve, jeans, baseball cap and glasses.

Collins was photographed at the pump wiping his windshield before heading outside, in photos obtained by The New York Post.

The Des Moines-born actor fell from grace after starring on the WB series for 11 seasons as Pastor Eric Camden 7th heaven from 1996 to 2007.

His life fell apart after he admitted to sexually assaulting three underage girls.

Collins was never criminally charged, except for his marriage to an actress Faye Grant became tense due to the shocking truth that came to light and the former couple separated in 2012 before divorcing in 2015.

In 2014, the disgraced star explained how there were three victims between 1973 and 1994, saying: “I have had no impulse to act in such a way in the last twenty years”.

He spoke out after releasing a recording in which he admitted to child abuse to TMZ.

“Forty years ago, I did something terribly wrong that I deeply regret. I have been working to atone for it ever since,” Collins shared in a statement. “I have decided to publicly address these issues because two months ago, several news organizations published a recording that my then-wife, Faye Grant, made during a confidential marriage counseling session in January 2012.”

He stated that the session was recorded “without the therapist’s or my knowledge or consent.”

April previously told one of the three underage girls, who is now an adult Daily email that she felt compelled to speak her truth in 2015, adding, “I’m standing up for myself.”

She alleged that Collins, then 35, exposed himself not once, but three times.

For his part, Collins said he spoke to one of the women in a Interview from 2014.

‘I had the opportunity to do that [contact] one of the women, 15 years later. I apologized and she was extremely gracious,” Collins said.

But having learned in the course of my treatment that my outspokenness about such matters could actually make the situation worse for them by reopening old wounds, I have not approached the other two women, one of whom is now in is in his fifties and the other is in his thirties.”
