Donald Trump Jr. fumes about ‘satanic’ Olympic Games opening ceremony: ‘Such a shame’

Donald Trump Jr. railed about “woke ideology” as he described a “satanic” parody of Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” that featured drag queens at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics on Friday.

The drag-inclusive display of the iconic painting, which depicts Jesus Christ’s meal with his apostles before his crucifixion, sparked opposition from some Christian bishops And conservative figures as House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.)Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker and Trump Jr.

The former president’s son, who claimed that his mother, Ivana Trump, was an Olympian and part of the Czechoslovak ski team at the 1972 Winter Olympics – a claim that has been disputed by the Czech Olympic Committee – said he was excited about the Games as a child.

“Now with the always predictable (and to me seemingly satanic) drag queen opening ceremonies and the never ending bs, no one I know even thinks about it, except maybe watching some highlights,” He wrote on social media.

“It is such a shame that an event that used to create so much national pride now creates indifference at best,” he continued. “Using the games to promote woke ideology has nothing to do with what the games stand for.”

Trump added that the moment was a “real disservice” to a group of “the most talented and dedicated people on the planet.”

Thomas Jolly, the ceremony’s artistic director, told reporters on Saturday that he was unaware of the criticism surrounding the production and that his goal was to “involve everyone.”

“We didn’t mean to be subversive. We never wanted to be subversive. We wanted to talk about diversity. Diversity means being together,” says Jolly, according to NBC News.

“In France we are a republic, we have the right to love who we want, we have the right not to be worshippers, we have many rights in France, and this is what I wanted to convey,” he added .
