After a recent contestant won the trip of a lifetime, viewers online chimed in, criticizing Carey, 66, for allegedly favoring some of the competitors.

“Sometimes I think they just give the people they like the win,” one poster shouted. Another agreed: “Funny. Because I thought that way too.’

The complaints have sent shockwaves through the entire production team, a show insider chimed.

“Drew does a great job, but scandals like this don’t do anyone any good and make people worry behind the scenes,” the spy told us. “They are all convinced that absolutely nothing has been manipulated, but it is still not good for the image of the show when fans make these kinds of claims.”

This isn’t the first time viewers of The Price is Right have accused the game show of monkey business. Just a few weeks earlier, some fans wondered if the famous dice game had been solved after a contestant rolled three sixes and a one to win a new car.

Instead of being happy with the player’s luck, dissatisfied viewers took to the Internet to express their displeasure, accusing that there was something fishy going on with the dice.

“Those dice were definitely counterfeit,” one commenter declared. “There’s no way he rolled that.”

When the stand-up comic took over as host of the show in 2007, replacing the late game show legend Bob Barker, there were plenty of complaints from loyal fans. But show producers remained silent about the uproar and it eventually blew over.

According to our mole, they are trying the same tactic this time.

“This whole falsification complaint has become a talking point that doesn’t seem to go away,” the insider explains. “Fans demand answers. The fans determine the success of a show. So if they’re not satisfied, it could all blow up.”

“Everyone involved with the show says it’s complete nonsense, but the longer they avoid talking about it publicly, the worse it will get.”

Prankster Carey does his best to laugh off the criticism, but it still stings, our source says.

“Drew is a sensitive man and really puts everything into this show, so it’s very hurtful to have people question his ethics in this way.”
