Hallmark is developing an unscripted Christmas cruise TV show

Hallmark Media is setting course for a new limited, unscripted docuseries.

The series, with the working title “Hallmark Christmas Cruise,” will offer an exclusive look at the immersive holiday-themed experience, highlighting heartwarming moments. Several stars from the network will be on board as guests enjoy an exclusive countdown to a world premiere of a Hallmark Channel Christmas movie. The docuseries will feature superfans preparing for their vacation at home and during their five-day journey aboard the ship.

In July, Hallmark announced their first-ever Hallmark Christmas Cruise; just a week after the announcement it sold out and they added a second set of dates. Both trips, now sold out, will take place over four nights, each on the Norwegian Gem. The series’ cameras will follow the second sailing from November 17 to 21, capturing the magic of the cruise through the eyes of fans.

The trip includes photo ops, wine tastings with Hallmark Channel wines, Christmas crafts, carol-oke singalongs, cookie decorating, an ugly sweater contest and more. Both cruise voyages travel from Miami, Florida to Nassau, Bahamas and feature a variety of Hallmark stars hosting holiday-themed competitions, events and meet-and-greets. It will also feature panels with various Hallmark stars, a movie marathon and a chance to explore the Bahamas.

The journey will feature a ‘Light the Night’ sailing ceremony and tree lighting event, with fans gathering on the pool deck at the start of the journey to celebrate the festive fun.

The series is produced by Big Fish Entertainment, an Amazon MGM Studios Company, for Hallmark Media. Executive producers are Lucilla D’Agostino and Jordana Starr for Big Fish Entertainment.

“We hear time and time again that people want to immerse themselves in the world of Hallmark Channel holiday movies and this venture will certainly bring our brand to life in a new, exciting way,” said Natalie Vandergast, vice president of consumer products for Hallmark Media. of the cruise. “We are excited to countdown to Christmas 2024 aboard an adventure that will allow our stars and enthusiastic fanbase to create everlasting memories together at sea.”

Jeff Cuellar, vice president of events, marketing and community at Sixthman, added: “From sugar plums to reindeer, ornaments to carols and much more.
