‘Hawk Tuah’ trademarks are piling up for lubricants, sauces, drinks and more
“Hawk Tuah” – the expression you can’t escape – is about to get even more in your face, because a group of people are jumping on the slippery bandwagon and banking on it by filing a slew of trademarks.
According to documents obtained by TMZ … the number of trademarks for the phrase has reached double digits, with multiple companies looking to put the phrase on virtually anything that could be related, even loosely, to the immortal words of the “hawk tuah” girl .
Companies are asking for the legal right to put the phrase on t-shirts and sportswear — which isn’t shocking — but what about lubricants, chewing tobacco, oral care, hair and body products, beverages… and, most naturally, sexual stimulants.
Someone is even trying to make “Hawk Tuah” hot sauces… at least for food. An important distinction to say the least.
It is worth noting that the pile of applications for trademarks “Hawk Tuah” does not include one Hailey Welch – the woman who coined the ubiquitous expression. We haven’t found one with her name, although it’s possible she’s filing as an alias or LLC.

To remind, Jason Poteete – who runs Fathead Threads, the clothing company that is already works with Hailey — told Rolling Stone that he suggested filing a trademark, and she’s talked to a lawyer about it.
It makes sense that many companies are jumping on the viral craze, as Poteete says Fathead Threads has already made more than $65,000 from merchandise featuring the iconic phrase.
We reached out to Welch and Fathead’s attorney to see if they have filed any trademarks… so far no word back.
