As a result, law enforcement officers abandoned the pursuit. The suspect drove into Summit County and then crashed near mile marker 83 in Blue River before reaching Breckenridge. The suspect then received medical care.
About 2 p.m., the Summit County Sheriff’s Office sent out a wireless emergency alert telling Blue River residents to shelter in place, police said. an incident update posted on Facebook by Sgt. Mike Schilling.
The highway was reopened at 3:45 p.m., but closed again after a truck struck a power line, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office reported.
