House of the Dragon Season 2 Finale Leaks on TikTok and Twitter

HBO’s ‘House of the Dragon’ has suffered another online leak. The show’s Season 1 finale leaked online, which also happened several times during the eight seasons of “Game of Thrones.”

And now, several scenes from the season 2 finale were leaked on TikTok on Tuesday night, just five days before the episode airs on HBO and streams on Max. One TikTok account posted 14 videos and about 30 minutes of footage from the unaired finale; the videos had approximately 50,000 to 100,000 views at the time of publishing this article. About three hours after the videos were posted, the TikTok account was banned, but the videos have made their way to Twitter/X and Reddit.

The situation mirrors what happened with the Season 1 finale of “House of the Dragon,” which leaked online two days before its October 2022 air date. According to HBO, that earlier leak came from a distribution partner in Europe, the Middle East or Africa. at the time. Variety has reached out to HBO and TikTok for comment on the season 2 finale leak but did not immediately hear back.

“Game of Thrones” had its share of online leaks, especially during its final season. Multiple episodes of Season 8 appeared on pirated sites and even on legitimate platforms such as DirecTV Now and Amazon Prime Video’s German platform ahead of their scheduled broadcasts.

With so many international distribution partners catering to the franchise’s avid fans, it has proven nearly impossible to deliver an entire season of “Game of Thrones” or “House of the Dragon” untouched ahead of schedule. HBO had tried to prevent piracy of the season 2 finale by not sending the finale screeners to journalists, but unfortunately the episode was leaked anyway.
