What will be announced at Google I/O 2024?
I/O is a developer conference, so the focus is usually on software.
This is unlikely to be different in 2024, with Android 15 for phones and Wear OS 5 for smartwatches both likely to get an official announcement. As with almost everything else in 2024, expect AI features to be at the forefront.
However, Google often uses I/O to talk about hardware as well, and there are a few potential devices on the agenda. It’s when we expect the launch of the mid-range Pixel 8a, but it could be joined by the Pixel Fold 2.
However, rumors suggest it may be part of the Pixel 9 range, which is unlikely to launch. But we could hear more about all three possible new devices in some capacity.
