How to watch the London Marathon on TV and online
This weekend the London Marathon will start for the 44th time in history, with participants running the traditional route between Greenwich Park and Buckingham Palace.
More than 50,000 participants will cover 26.2 miles, competing against rival runners and typical British weather. If you want to see what’s going to happen at this year’s London Marathon, you can follow the coverage from the comfort of your home.

What time does the London Marathon 2024 start?
This year’s London Marathon will take place on Sunday, April 21, 2024.
Here is the official running schedule:
- 9:05 am – Elite wheelchair race begins
- 9:25 am – Start race elite ladies
- 10am – Start elite men/mass race
A series of starting waves lasts until 11:30 am. Before the competition, each participant will receive a registration email containing information about, among other things, the designated starting wave and gathering area.
What is the route of the London Marathon 2024?
The London Marathon starts in Greenwich Park. Participants will run past Cutty Sark, cross Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf before passing the Tower of London, The London Eye and Big Ben. The marathon ends in The Mall near Buckingham Palace.
How to watch the 2024 London Marathon in Britain
If you live in the UK, you can follow the Marathon on BBC platforms.
BBC One: 8:30 am – 2:00 pm
BBC Two: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
BBC Two will show the highlights of the marathon between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

How to watch the 2024 London Marathon outside Britain
