“In four years you won't have to vote anymore,” Donald Trump tells Christians

Trump spoke at an event in Florida organized by Turning Point Action.

Republican candidate Donald Trump has told Christians that if they vote for him in November’s presidential election, he will arrange everything so well that they will no longer have to vote.

Trump spoke at an event in Florida organized by the conservative group Turning Point Action.

“Christians, you have to vote. You don’t have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what, it will be solved, it will be fine. You don’t have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I love you, Christians .I love you guys. Go away, you guys have to go away and vote. In four years you won’t have to vote, we’ll make it right for you. “I don’t have to vote,” Trump said.

It is not clear what the former president, who is accused of inciting the 2020 Capitol riots and is said to be trying to overturn his 2022 election loss, meant by those comments.

The Kamala Harris campaign did not directly address the comments, but spokesman Jason Singer described his overall speech as “bizarre” and “backward looking.”

Trump had previously said he would be dictator for a day and close the southern border with Mexico if he returns to power in November. He later played down his comments as a joke.

The US presidential race has tightened after President Joe Biden was replaced by his deputy Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate last week. Ms. Harris’ entry into the race has largely erased Trump’s lead, recent polls show.
