Joe Biden gives first interview since dropping out of the White House Race

Costa asked Biden about his health and whether he would go on the campaign trail.

Biden said: “All I can say is, ‘Look.’ That’s it. Look, I had a very, very bad day in that debate because I was sick. But I don’t have a serious problem.”

“I was talking to the governor. [Josh] Shapiro, who is a friend. We have to win Pennsylvania, my original home state,” the president explained. “He and I are putting together a campaign tour of Pennsylvania. I will also campaign in other states. And I’m going to do whatever Kamala thinks I can do to help the most.

He told the CBS reporter that he talks to Harris regularly and called her new running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, “a great guy.”

Biden told Costa: “As we say, if we had grown up in the same neighborhood, we would have been friends. He’s my kind of guy. He’s real, he’s smart. I’ve known him for decades. I think it’s a great team.”
