Joshua Jackson Reveals His Daughter’s Inspired Role of ‘Karate Kid’

And the actor, 45, has revealed his daughter was behind the decision to take his first feature film role in almost a decade.
“Part of the reason I wanted to make the movie is because it’s the first thing I’ve been able to watch with my daughter in a very, very long time,” says the movie star. Dawson’s Creek star said Entertainment tonight on the Disney Upfront red carpet on Tuesday, May 15.
Jackson, who shares daughter Juno Rose Diana Jackson, 4, with ex-wife Jodie Turner Smithwill be seen next in the 2025 film Sadie Stanley, Ming-Na Wen, Aramis Knight And Wyatt Oleff alongside the franchise’s continuing stars Jackie Chan And Ralph Macchio.

The actor separated from 37-year-old Turner-Smith in October 2023 after almost four years of marriage.
He has rarely spoken publicly about his daughter, but he did discuss his evolution as a father and briefly touched on the child’s personality in 2022.
“Work [of being a parent] is constant because she is constantly a new version of herself,” Jackson shared People at the time. “I think so [you have to be] be open to the fact that you have to discover your child again and again. But the best thing about this moment is that she is so hyper-verbal and very stubborn. And I just enjoy the opportunity to have that conversation with her.
Jackson is currently dating Lupita Nyong’o and she recently spoiled the actress, 41, during her birthday in Mexico.
A source said this exclusively We weekly on March 5: “Lupita is so happy to spend her birthday with Joshua and he treats her like a real princess. He surprised her with a spa day at the resort and romantic dinners. He pulls out all the stops because he wants to make her feel really special.”
