Kathryn Hahn sings new song

The cast of the Marvel series “Agatha All Along” unveiled the second trailer for the sequel “WandaVision” at the D23 Expo on Friday, as well as a special live performance of the original song that powers the show, “The Ballad of the Witches Away.” “

Star Kathryn Hahn – reprising her performance as the hilarious, hex-loving sorceress Agatha Harkness from “WandaVision” – was joined onstage at the Honda Center in Anaheim by costars Joe Locke, Patti LuPone, Aubrey Plaza, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn and Debra Jo Rupp to perform the ballad, written by the Emmy- and Oscar-winning team of Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, who also appeared on stage. The song’s title references the mystical thoroughfare that the show’s logline describes as “a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they lack.”

In “WandaVision”, Hahn is first introduced as Agnes, Wanda and Vision’s “nosy neighbor” in Westview, a community trapped in an ever-evolving television show. Ultimately, she reveals her true identity as Agatha, a powerful witch who has lived for centuries thanks to her magical abilities. After an epic battle in the finale of “WandaVision” between Agatha and Wanda, the superhero takes all of Agatha’s powers and traps her in Westview in her false persona of Agnes. In “Agatha All Along,” Locke’s character, known only as Teen, frees Agatha from Wanda’s spell, after which Agatha gathers a coven to walk the Witch’s Way to restore her magical abilities.

Jac Schaeffer, head writer of “WandaVision,” serves as executive producer and showrunner for “Agatha All Along,” the first two episodes of which premiere September 18 on Disney+.
