Korea's 'Couple Palace' gets green light for second season

SECOND MARRIAGE

Koreas CJ ENM has commissioned a second season from “Couple palace”, the successful survival show for couples. The show features fifty men and fifty women from different backgrounds who reveal their detailed social status to seek ideal partners based on elements such as ideal marital values, physical appearance, economic status and lifestyle. It premiered on CJ ENM’s affiliate music channel Mnet in January 2024.

It is developed by star producers Lee Sun-young And Jeong Min Seokknown for their distinctive worldwide performances of “I Can See Your Voice” and “Love Catcher.”

“The follow-up to ‘Couple Palace’ clearly demonstrates the fact that its candid yet in-depth portrayal of relationship dynamics associated with marriage has resonated with audiences from a variety of circumstances and environments. We sincerely believe the show can further capture the interest of global fans once it is localized in multiple regions,” said Sebastian Kim, director of CJ ENM’s international content sales.

NARROW ROAD, WIDER CAST

Annie ShaperoBest known for her role in the Israeli series ‘Red Skies’, which won Best Drama Series at Series Mania in 2023, has joined the cast of the premium Australian series ‘The narrow road to the deep north.” After getting his start in live theater, Shapero also recently appeared in FX pilot “The Border,” an adaptation of the third book in Don Winslow’s bestselling Cartel Trilogy.

ANOTHER FALL

AppleTV+ has acquired season two of the hit multilingual French-Japanese drama “Drops of God” by Legendary entertainment and producers Les Productions Dynamic in association with 10:22 p.m And Adline Entertainment. The streamer will release it worldwide, excluding Japan.

In season two of ‘Drops of God’ Camille (played by Fleur Geffrier) and Issei (Yamashita Tomohisa) are once again faced with an almost impossible challenge: discovering the origins of the world’s most beautiful wine. Through a series of trials and tests, their quest will take them to far-flung corners of the world, forcing them to face their inner demons and change them forever.

Season two is directed by Oded Ruskin (“No Man’s Land,” “Absentia”), who also directed the first season. Season one was created by Quoc Dang Tran (“Marianne,” “Parallel”) and produced by Klaus Zimmerman (“Captured”).
