Lauri Peterson's son was released from jail days before an apparent fatal overdose

Lauri Peterson‘s son had just been released from prison before his shocking death. Court records obtained by RadarOnline.com show Josh Waring was released on March 29 after being locked up for over a month.

As this outlet reported, the original member of The Real Housewives of Orange County announced her son’s unexpected death during the weekend. He was only 35 years old when he died on Easter Sunday.

Waring had been in trouble with the police for years, including his conviction for a shooting in Costa Mesa, CA, with the most recent incident unfortunately occurring in the final months of his life. Peterson’s child was sent to jail for the final time on Feb. 21 for violating the conditions of his release in a separate crime. He would have to spend 90 days behind bars, meaning he would not have been released until May; However, Waring was released from an apparent overdose just two days before he died.

Records also showed that Peterson’s son was supposed to contact probation officers by April 1, but did not do so because he had died the day before. Last week, officials requested an arrest warrant for Waring, per The Orange County Register.

On February 14, Waring was arrested and booked on suspicion of beating a local security guard at a medical center, an Orange County police lieutenant confirmed.

According to the lieutenant, a warrant had been issued for Waring’s arrest at the time in connection with a post-release supervision violation, which reportedly led to his 90-day jail sentence on February 21.

Peterson revealed her son’s death in an emotional tribute.

“It is with a broken heart that I write this message to let you know that my sweet Josh left this earth on Easter Sunday,” Lauri wrote on Instagram on April 6. “No one can ever prepare you for this feeling of such deep loss. Every fiber in my body aches. Josh has fought for his life every day for most of his adult life, but last Sunday the challenge was too great.”

Posting various photos of Josh over the years, the ex-RHOC star added, “Josh’s childhood was filled with deep intellect, humor, jokes, athletics, snowboarding, mountain bodyboarding, reading, friends and his love of music. Even through the rigors of adulthood, Josh maintained his sense of humor, he continued. He was optimistic, remained kind to others, defended those who could not defend themselves and continued to love his family so much! He received the most joy, pride and purpose through his daughter Kennady and watched her grow and blossom throughout the years years.”

Peterson — who adopted Waring’s daughter in 2015 amid his struggles — made no mention of his alleged overdose, which was revealed by his sister, Ashley Zarlinin her tribute.

Zarlin claimed she lost her brother to a “ruthless grip of addiction,” adding, “It is a disease that warps and destroys, leaving shattered dreams and broken hearts.”
