Despite dealing with a worrying challenge Lionel Messi late in the first half, below Miami extended their MLS winning streak to five games on Saturday night with a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over CF Montreal. Messi was on the wrong end of a tough challenge as the match approached half-time and lay on the ground for a few minutes receiving medical attention before going on and playing the full 90 minutes. As Messi waited to be called back onto the pitch by the center referee, Inter were already 2-0 down and in need of a spark.

New signing Matias Rojas did just that, scoring a Messi-esque free-kick to halve the lead.

Before you knew it, the match was even, as Luis Suarez scored from a corner just four minutes later Benjamin Cremaschi completed the comeback just before the hour mark.

Inter Miami started the match red-hot on attack with 10 goals scored in the previous two matches combined, and posting three goals north of the border marked their sixth straight multi-goal MLS match and the fifth straight time they scored at least three.

The win keeps Inter at the top of the Eastern Conference with an 8-3-2 record and 27 points. Montreal, with 12 points and a 3-3-5 record, is just a few points out of a playoff spot in this early part of the campaign.
