Matt Bomer says he lost the role of Superman after coming out as gay

Author Jackie Collins made the same claim about why Bomer was left out for the Warner Bros. role when she told it Supporter in 2012, citing an unnamed source: “The reason he wasn’t cast was because he was gay.”

The actor “had not come out of the closet, but those in the know knew he was gay.” Collins explained, “His audition tape went in and he called the agent. Someone didn’t like him and told him [the producers] he was gay. They said, ‘No, no, we can’t cast you.'”

Finally, Superman: Flyby was shelved by Warner Bros., and Bryan Singers Superman returnsof Brandon Routhwas released in 2006.
