MiO Energy Drink Mixes recalled in Canada due to potentially unsafe caffeine levels

Kraft Heinz Canada is recalling MiO Energy brand Energy Drink Mixes due to potentially unsafe caffeine levels.

This recall was prompted by the inspection activities of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).

According to the CFIA, the recalled products were distributed nationally in Canada.

High levels of caffeine can cause adverse health effects for children, pregnant, lactating, and caffeine-sensitive individuals. Exercising while consuming caffeine can have adverse health effects. Some of the side effects of consuming excess caffeine can include insomnia, irritability, headaches and nervousness.

MiO Energy Energy drink mix, tropical passion fruit

  • Codes – All expiration dates that contain caffeine

MiO Energy Energy drink mix, black cherry

  • Size – 48 ml
  • UPC – 0 683901 1
  • Codes – All expiration dates that contain caffeine

MiO Energy Energy drink mix, Açaí berry

  • Size – 48 ml
  • UPC – 0 683911 8
  • Codes – All expiration dates that contain caffeine

Consumers should not consume, serve, use, sell or distribute recalled products. Recalled products should be thrown away or returned to the location where they were purchased.
