More than 900 flights delayed at Denver International Airport due to wind

More than 900 flights were delayed Wednesday at Denver International Airport due to winds as thunderstorms rolled across northern Colorado.

There were 924 flights delayed at DIA as of 8:32 p.m., according to the flight tracking website FlightAware. The most delays occurred on Southwest and United Airlines.

The airport implemented a traffic management program and departing flights were delayed by up to 1 hour and 45 minutes due to the wind. This was reported by the Federal Aviation Administration.

The agency said the delays were resolved by Wednesday evening.

National Weather Service forecasters reported gusts of 47 mph at 2:45 p.m
