Morgan Freeman, David Boreanaz attend the Monte Carlo Television Festival

Prince Albert II of Monaco opened the 63rd Monte-Carlo Television Festival on Friday, accompanied by an array of stars led by Morgan Freeman, David Boreanaz of “SEAL Team” and Simone Ashley of “Bridgerton.”

The opening ceremony took place under stormy skies at the Grimaldi Forum, where the world premiere of the limited series “The Gray House” opened the event. Many of the show’s stars were in attendance, including Mary-Louise Parker (“Weeds,” “The West Wing”), Daisy Head (“Harlots”), Amethyst Davis (“Kindred”) and Ben Vereen (“Roots”), together with executive producers Leslie Greif (“Hatfields & McCoys”), Lori McCreary (“Madam Secretary”) and Freeman.

“The Gray House” is distributed by Republic Pictures and produced by Kevin Costner’s Territory Pictures, Freeman and McCreary’s Revelations Entertainment and Big Dreams Entertainment.

Boreanaz, star of “Bones,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Angel” and “SEAL Team,” chairs the festival’s fiction jury. He is joined by judges Piv Bernth, CEO, executive and creative producer of Apple Tree Productions in Denmark; Teresa Fernandez Valdes, producer and CEO of Te Espero and Marte in Spain; Claire Mundell, producer and creative director and founder of Synchronicity Films in the UK; Danish actor Ulrich Thomsen; and Noor Sadar, producer and CEO of White Lion Films, a subsidiary of Mediawan in France.

Steve Anderson, UK-based journalist, executive producer and former controller of news and current affairs at ITV, chairs the news and documentary jury. Members of that jury include Chiara Avesani, director and journalist at Rai 3 in Italy; Martina Šantavá, creative producer at Ceska Televise in the Czech Republic; André Carvalho Ramos, journalist and presenter at CNN Portugal, and Yann-Anthony Noghès, producer at Check Productions in Monaco.

The Crystal Nymph, awarded to a major television actor in recognition of a great body of work, was presented to Freeman by Prince Albert II.

The International Golden Nymph for Most Promising Talent was presented to Ashley, the British actress who plays Kate Sharma, the female lead of Season 2 of Netflix’s ‘Bridgerton’.
