On September 24, 2023, a capsule from NASA’s OSIRIS-REx mission floated back to Earth and landed safely in the Utah desert. The mission marked the first time the US returned a piece of an asteroid and a big moment for the space agency. The historic success of OSIRIS-REx plays a prominent role The best NASA Headquarters photo album of 2023recently compiled and shared on Flickr.

Other milestone moments documented in the photos include the launch of the Psyche spacecraft, the SpaceX Dragon Endurance landing and the Earth return of Frank Rubio, the record holder for the longest single space flight by an American astronaut.

NASA HQ shared 100 photos, but we selected our 13 favorites.
