Neve Schulman is lucky he’s still alive…he got into a bike accident that could have left him paralyzed for life, or worse.
Nev said he was riding his bike last Monday, going to his son’s school to take him home, when tragedy struck. “I have never been able to pick up my son from school by bike. In some ways I’m even glad I didn’t. I was alone at the impact. Me and the truck. And then I think the sidewalk. I was alone and unconscious.”
The 39-year-old ‘Catfish’ host revealed he was rushed to a hospital in Southampton, New York and doctors quickly diagnosed him…he had a broken neck and there were ominous signs.
Nev said: “Stable fractures. I’m not paralyzed. My hands were a question mark there for a minute, but the human body is incredible and so are PEOPLE.”

Nev sent hospital staff to help him recover… and that included a physiotherapist to help him get out of bed so he could walk again.
There’s also a photo of Nev in a neck brace, so it’s clear… this was a super serious situation.
He underwent surgery and has a purple scar on his neck to prove it.
This is the latest example of how a helmet can save a motorcyclist’s life. Nev posted a video of his broken bike helmet. Without the helmet he could have easily died.
He had a lot of support from his family. In one of the photos you see drawings, courtesy of his 3 children, aged 7 years old Cleo James5 years old Beau Bobby Bruceand 2 years old Cy Monroe. His children were there for love and support, and it was mission accomplished.
Nev said: “I feel lucky to be here, alive, standing and hugging my family, expected to make a full recovery. And I’m really starting to understand the meaning of gratitude. For the big and small things before the accident, and now for everything beyond.”
As Nev said, “Life can change in the blink of an eye.”
